Sylvie Deparis
Sylvie Deparis holds a doctorate degree from the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and a Master of Laws from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). As a member of the Paris Bar, she worked in the Paris office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP for 18 years. In that capacity, she advised clients on numerous international transactions (including mergers & acquisitions and private equity fund formation) and drafted the French and English legal documentation related thereto (stock or asset purchase agreements, joint-venture agreements, documentation related to private equity funds, etc.).
Sylvie Deparis also worked as a Chargée de mission in the Department of international relations of the French Securities commission (Autorité des marchés financiers).
Sylvie Deparis has been working as a legal translator since 2006. She translates various types of legal documents, including contracts of all kind, corporate documents, civil and criminal courts’ decisions, documents related to legal proceedings, arbitral awards, wills and divorce documents. She works on a regular basis for law firms, notaries and an international arbitration institution. She is a member of the Société française des traducteurs (SFT).
